Excel import

Add or update hundreds of products and categories in one upload.

With Excel import you add or update many products or categories at once: download a template, fill it in, upload it back. It works for both Products and Categories — press Excel import at the top of either list.

How it works

  1. Press Excel import on the Products (or Categories) page.
  2. Press Download .xlsx template. The file already lists everything you have, so you can edit existing rows or add new ones at the bottom. The second sheet explains every column.
  3. Fill it in with Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice and save it as .xlsx.
  4. Back on the import page, drop the file on Excel file (.xlsx) (up to 5 MB) and press Import.

Update or add: the ID column

  • A row with an ID updates that product or category.
  • A row without an ID is added as a new one.
  • Nothing is ever deleted by an import — rows you remove from the file are simply left as they are.
  • New rows count toward your plan's product limit. If the file would go over it, nothing is imported and the error says how many fit. Product limit

All or nothing

Every row is checked before anything is saved. If any row has a problem, nothing is imported and you see a list such as "Row 14: the price must be a number". Fix those rows and upload the same file again.

Product columns

Column
ID Filled in for existing products. Leave empty for a new one.
Name * Up to 120 characters.
Category Picked from a list in the file; a sub-collection is written Parent › Child. Empty means none.
Description Up to 5000 characters.
Price * e.g. 49.90.
Old price A higher crossed-out price to show a sale.
Discount % From 1 to 99.
Currency e.g. GEL, USD. Empty means your shop's currency.
Stock Units in stock; empty means 0. Ignored for products whose stock is counted per combination.
New Yes pins it to new arrivals.
Visible No hides it. Empty means Yes.
Position Smaller numbers come first.

Category columns

Column
ID Filled in for existing collections. Leave empty for a new one.
Name * Up to 80 characters.
Parent collection Name of a top-level collection to nest this one under. Empty for a top-level collection.
Description Up to 1000 characters.
Featured Yes shows it as a photo tile on the home page.
Visible No hides it. Empty means Yes.
Position Order within its level.
