Product options
Sizes, colours, volumes — and stock counted for every combination.
On this page
Options are the choices a product comes in: Size, Colour, Volume, Fits model… You define each option once for the whole shop, then tick on every product the values it comes in. Customers pick them on the product page before adding to the cart.
Create an option
-
Go to Product options and press New option.
-
Enter a Name, e.g.
Size. -
Under Values write one value per line, in the order customers should see them:
S M L XL -
Ordering decides where this option appears among the others on the product page — lower numbers first.
-
Keep Show in shop on, and press Create option.
An option can have up to 50 values.
Give a product its options
On the product's edit page, the Product options card lists all your options. Tick the values this product comes in — for example sizes S, M, L and colours Red, Blue.
Stock per combination
As soon as you tick values, a Stock per combination table appears with one row for every combination (Red / S, Red / M…). Enter how many you have of each:
- The product's Stock field becomes the total of those quantities and updates by itself.
- A combination with 0 is shown to customers as sold out, while the others can still be bought.
- Each order takes units from the exact combination bought; a cancelled order puts them back.
Prefer to count stock for the product as a whole? Leave the quantities empty and enter the Stock field yourself — customers still choose a size or colour, they just all share one stock count.
Hidden options
Switch off Show in shop to hide an option from customers. It stays ticked on your products in the admin (marked Hidden), so you can switch it back on later without ticking everything again.
Filters in your shop
When the Options filter is on in Design → Catalogue, customers can narrow the product list by your option values, e.g. show only size M.
